One Warm Coat teams up with 2,000 nonprofit organizations to distribute coats across the United States. As part of our Coat Drive Program, volunteer Coat Drive Organizers use our Nonprofit Locator Map to find a local nonprofit organization or school in need of coats.
How We Can Help
One Warm Coat provides our Nonprofit Network with:
- An opportunity to receive gently worn coats through One Warm Coat’s programs.
- A listing on our Nonprofit Locator Map, where thousands of local volunteers look for organizations in need of coats
- An additional listing on our Coat Drive Map to drive awareness of your need.
- Access to many free resources.

Nonprofit Network Requirements
To qualify to join our Nonprofit Network, organizations must:
- Be a registered 501(c)(3) organization in good standing with the IRS or a public school
- Work directly with individuals in need
- Accept gently worn coats
- Distribute the coats for free and without discrimination. Coats received through One Warm Coat may not be sold.
- Maintain current contact and drop off information.
Frequently Asked Questions
To be eligible to join One Warm Coat’s Nonprofit Network, an organization must be a school OR a 501(c)3 nonprofit in good standing with the IRS. In addition, any coats your organization receives through One Warm Coat’s programs must be given away for FREE to recipients, without discrimination or obligation.
Once your organization submits an application, One Warm Coat staff will review and process it (typically within 3 business days). Once approved, you will be notified via email and your organization will automatically be listed on the Nonprofit Locator Map and the Coat Drive Locator Map.
No, it is free to join One Warm Coat’s Nonprofit Network.
No. Members of One Warm Coat’s Nonprofit Network are not guaranteed to receive coats. However, One Warm Coat provides tools and resources to help organizations hold their own coat drives.
If your organization is in a crisis situation and needs coats immediately, please contact us here. We may be able to provide assistance.
If your organization can no longer accept coat donations, please email us and we will “hide” your listing from the Nonprofit Locator Map for the remainder of the season. Your information will be displayed on the map again next year.
One Warm Coat encourages the public to donate freshly laundered and wearable coats. However, if your organization receives coats that are unusable, we recommend recycling them. If your organization offers textile recycling as a service, let us know so we can mark that on your map listing(s).
No, One Warm Coat will never sell your information to any third party or sponsor.

Yes! One Warm Coat’s logo is available for your organization to use in publicizing or promoting the coat collection or distribution process. Please share articles and press releases with us and tag us in your social media posts @onewarmcoat. We also have a special seal that you can share letting people know that your organization is a member of One Warm Coat’s Nonprofit Network.
No. All funds raised as part of a One Warm Coat drive are used to support One Warm Coat’s mission. If your organization holds a coat drive and collects financial donations using one of One Warm Coat’s coat drive pages, those funds will be retained by One Warm Coat and will not be dispersed to your organization.
No. Coat requests and wish lists are not part of our program, and we do not purchase or manufacture new coats. You may be confusing One Warm Coat with a different nonprofit with a similar name.
