Every $1 Warms 1 Person!

Monetary donations are vital for providing warmth.

Because of One Warm Coat’s low-overhead, with every $1 donated, we are able to collect and distribute 1 gently worn coat through the Coat Drive program.

Monetary donations enable One Warm Coat to:

Raise awareness of the vital need for warm coats

Support the Coat Drive Program, by:

  • Providing instructions, support and tools and resources to more than 4,000 volunteer Coat Drive Ambassadors
  • Maintaining a database of more than 1,400 nonprofit organizations across the country who are in need of coats.

Support Nonprofit Partners, by:

  • Matching volunteer Coat Drive Ambassadors with nonprofit agencies and schools in their area who are in need of coats
  • Assisting more than 1,400 nonprofit agencies and schools in receiving the coats they need each year

Please note: donations raised for One Warm Coat through One Warm Coat’s website or a third party fundraising platform, stay with One Warm Coat and support the Coat Drive Program. Funds are not granted to our nonprofit partners.

How To Fundraise During Your Coat Drive

Here are a few ways you could collect funds for your coat drive!

Set Goals For Your Coat Drive

Set coat and dollar goals for your coat drive! For instance, if your goal is to warm 500 people, strive to collect 250 coats and $250 dollars.

Use Tools to Incentivize Your Donors

* Print and distribute tax receipts to all your coat and monetary donors

* Give each donor a sticker

*Take pictures with the #ShareWarmth sign

NOTE: Please do not mail cash to One Warm Coat; rather we ask you to write a check for the amount of the cash received, or obtain a cashier’s check from a bank or grocery store. Checks can be mailed to 2443 Fillmore St, #380-5363, San Francisco, CA 94115-1814

Share Your Coat Drive Page

All registered Coat Drive Ambassadors will receive a link to a personal coat drive page for promoting their coat drive and collecting coat and dollar donations.

Ambassadors can share their personal page through email and social media to encourage family, friends, neighbors and colleagues to donate coats and dollars.

Every monetary donation made to an Ambassador’s coat drive page will automatically be credited to their coat drive and can be seen on the page in real time.

Ambassadors are able to quickly and easily check their page to see their donation totals.

Start A Fundraiser on Facebook

It’s easy to create a fundraiser on Facebook, and they don’t charge One Warm Coat any fees! Click on the blue link above to begin.

Facebook fundraisers do not integrate directly with your personal coat drive page, and donations will not display on the coat drive page in real time.  One Warm Coat receives disbursements of Facebook donations on a monthly basis.  Once One Warm Coat receives the funds from Facebook, they will be deposited and credited to your Coat Drive page.

Add a Donation Sticker to Your Instagram Story

Let your social community know you are holding a coat drive and collecting coats and dollars for One Warm Coat.

To add a donation sticker to your story:

1. Add a new story (about your coat drive or the need for coats).

2. Click on the sticker button and choose the Donation sticker.

3. You will be prompted to choose the nonprofit you’d like to fundraise for. Type One Warm Coat in the search box.

4. All donations will come directly to One Warm Coat!

Double Your Impact!

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs to match charitable contributions made by their employees. Gift from employees’ spouses and retirees may also qualify for a match. Search to find out if your employer has a matching gift program.
