About One Warm Coat

One Warm Coat is a national non-profit organization that works to provide a free, warm coat to any person in need. One Warm Coat supports individuals, groups, companies and organizations across the country by providing the tools and resources needed to hold a successful coat drive. Coats are distributed in the communities where they were collected, to children and adults in need, without charge, discrimination or obligation. Since One Warm Coat’s inception in 1992, we have worked with our volunteers to host more than 31,000 coat drives and have given away more than 5 million coats.

What we do annually:

• Create an opportunity for nearly 600,000 individuals to receive a warm coat
• Touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals
• Support over 3,500 coat drive organizers by providing free instructions, materials, tools and resources
• Host and maintain a searchable database of coat drive events across North America
• Assist over 1,000 community agencies in receiving the coats they need
• Work with over 1,000 companies and brands to engage employees and customers to give the gift of warmth
• Develop customized campaign strategies that support our partners’ goals and initiatives
• Help our partners make a tangible difference in the lives of others

What we have accomplished:

• Focused exclusively on one need for 25 years
• Hosted more than 31,000 coat drives to date
• Helped facilitate coat drives in all 50 states & 10 countries
• Collected 5 million coats to date (with an average cost of .50 per coat)
• Efficiently used funds – 95% of every $1 supports programs
