Frequently Asked Questions
One Warm Coat’s Coat Drive Program is designed to be a do-it-yourself program for volunteers of any age to make a difference in their community. As part of the free program, One Warm Coat provides:
- Easy registration
- A customizable coat drive webpage for promoting your drive and tracking coat and dollar donations
- An optional listing on the public Coat Drive Map to enable your community to donate coats to your drive
- Free promotional resources and ideas
- Email and phone support from One Warm Coat staff
- Access to a network of partner nonprofit organizations that have been vetted by One Warm Coat. Each organization is a registered 501(c)3 or school in good standing with the IRS, who has made a written commitment to distribute the coats for free and without discrimination
Coats collected through the Coat Drive Program are delivered to our nonprofit partner organizations who distribute the coats to the children and adults they serve. One Warm Coat has many different types of nonprofit partners, but they must be either a 501(c)3 in good standing with the IRS or a school. Our nonprofit partners sign an agreement to give the coats they receive away for free and without discrimination or obligation.

There is not a registration fee to register single coat drives. Visit the Organize a Coat Drive page to get started!

Every coat drive can be easily adapted to be partially or fully virtual/remote.
A virtual/remote coat drive allows others to contribute to your coat drive by making monetary donations to your custom coat drive webpage when they are not able to physically donate coats, or you are not able to physically collect coats (every $1 donated warms 1 person!). This is a great option for offices that have employees spread across many areas and want to engage everyone.
To create a virtual/remote coat drive, follow the same steps for a traditional coat drive. Please email us with questions!
You can register up to 5 locations with a single registration. If you have more than 5 locations or want to explore customized marketing solutions, please click here to get started.
Coat drives are the perfect activity to engage employees in small local offices or in large companies with many locations. Employees can collect coats, financial donations, or both! Click here to learn more about achieving your ESG & CSR goals!
