One Warm Coat is proud to partner with 9/11 Day to help transform the anniversary of 9/11 into a day of worldwide day of unity.

September 11 will mark the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. To honor those who lost their lives on that tragic day, One Warm Coat is partnering with 9/11 Day to participate in a Day of Service.

The mission of the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance is to transform a day of tragedy into a day of doing good. The Day of Service asks Americans to commit to a day of unity and “good deeds.”

Holding a Coat Drive

“Holding a coat drive aligns with the mission of 9/11 Day as an effective way to make an immediate impact on the lives of others in your community,” said Beth W. Amodio, One Warm Coat’s president and chief executive officer. “Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are seeing an increased need for warm coats to protect some of our most vulnerable neighbors when temperatures begin to drop this fall and winter.”

One Warm Coat provides all the resources necessary to register, promote, and manage coat drives to make the process more convenient for organizers. One Warm Coat partners with other nonprofits in communities across the country to ensure every coat that is collected is delivered to someone in need. Coat drives can be easily adapted to allow for social distancing and tips are also provided to ensure everyone involved in the Coat Drive Program can participate safely. Coat drives can also be completely virtual.
