On Saturday, October 1, we kicked off our 30th anniversary year by distributing hundreds of new coats alongside our friends at San Francisco City Impact. It was an incredible experience made possible by several awesome partners!

SF City Impact has served as a lifeline for the people of the Tenderloin District since 1984. The community is roughly one square mile in size and has over 28,000 residents, and SF City Impact provides an important safety net through a variety of services.

One Warm Coat staff and Board members joined the SF City Impact team to prepare and serve breakfast and distribute warm coats to Tenderloin residents.

Hundreds of new coats were provided by Free Country, who donated the coats through One Warm Coat’s Zero Waste Initiative. Since 2020, Free Country has been a generous participant in the Zero Waste Initiative, donating nearly 3,000 coats and other outerwear.

The Free Country coats were transported free of charge from New York to San Francisco by Ruan Transportation. Ruan Vice President of Operations Ryan Frederiksen serves on the Board for One Warm Coat and managed the logistics of the delivery of more than 40 boxes of donated items.

It was an incredible experience to share warmth and see the huge smiles on the faces of the people who received coats!
